Bagas31: Parted Magic is a commercial Linux distribution based on Slackware that provides tools for partitioning and recovering data on hard drives. It is sold as a Linux-based boot disk. The name of the distribution comes from the names of the programs GNU Parted and PartitionMagic. Here is a brief description of its capabilities:
Partitioning and formatting disks. Parted Magic allows you to create, modify, move, copy and delete partitions on hard drives of different types and sizes. You can use different file systems such as ext2, ext3, ext4, fat16, fat32, ntfs, reiserfs and others. You can also align partitions by cylinder or by MIB.
Data and password recovery. Parted Magic allows you to recover lost data from damaged or deleted partitions using Partimage, TestDisk, Truecrypt, Clonezilla and others. You can also reset or change Windows passwords using the chntpw program.

Disk cloning and erasing. Parted Magic allows you to create complete copies of hard drives or individual partitions using the Clonezilla program. You can also securely erase data from hard drives using various overwriting methods.
Testing and benchmarking. Parted Magic allows you to check the status of your hard drives for upcoming failures using the smartctl program. You can also test your memory for bad sectors using the memtest86+ program. In addition, you can measure the performance of your computer using Bonnie++, IOzone, Hard Info, System Stability Tester and others.
Download without installation. Parted Magic is a standalone Linux operating system that runs from a CD or USB drive. Nothing is installed. Parted Magic requires an i586 or higher processor and 312 MB of RAM or 175 MB in Live mode.
