Bagas31: MatterControl is free and open source software for managing and improving your 3D printing process. It allows you to create, organize and print your 3D models using a 3D printer. It also includes powerful design and print prep capabilities, as well as templates in Design Apps to help you get started with your creations.

Design – Allows you to create and edit 3D models using the built-in 2D CAD program, import 3D models from different formats, and use the variable shape library to create generic parts from templates. You can also apply various artistic effects to your 3D models, as well as retouch and smooth portraits.

Print Preparation—Enables you to make optimal use of your material by applying various automated nesting strategies that take into account grain size, safe zones, residual material, and other factors. You can also nest interactively or manually using convenient tools to move, rotate, flip, and group parts on the sheet.
Print Management – Allows you to not only print, but also perform other 3D printing related tasks such as job costing, order management, printer health monitoring, reporting and labeling, and integration with other systems such as ERP/ MRP.
Preview – Allows you to view your 3D model in different modes (solid, wire, layer by layer), as well as simulate the printing process using the Print Simulator function. You can also check various parameters of your 3D model, such as dimensions, volume, surface, etc.
Printer Control – Allows you to control various parameters of your 3D printer, such as temperature, speed and extrusion, as well as text notifications when printing is complete. You can also customize part separations, plates and holes, kerf compensation and feed, and I/O style based on part geometry and quality.
