Bagas31: HDAT2 is a program for testing, diagnosing and repairing hard drives and solid state drives. It supports ATA/ATAPI/SATA, SSD, SCSI and USB devices and can detect and fix bad sectors, SMART errors, partition and file system problems, etc.
Device level testing. You can test and repair bad sectors on your hard drive or drive using different methods: read, write, check, copy, compare, etc. You can also test and configure SMART (self-diagnosis and monitoring) parameters and run the device’s built-in self-tests.

File level testing. You can test and repair the file system on your hard drive or storage device using various functions: scanning, repairing, formatting, copying, moving, deleting, etc. You can also work with partitions on your hard drive or drive using various functions: creating, modifying, deleting, activating, etc.
Loading from different media. You can load the HDAT2 program from different media: CD/DVD disk, floppy disk or USB flash drive. You can also boot HDAT2 in DOS or Windows mode (32/64 bit). You can also use HDAT2 in DEMO mode to test functionality without making any changes to the device.
Additional functions. You can use the SHOW_SCR function to view saved error screens from the HDAT2SCR.ERR file. You can also use the HDPMI32 function to run the HDAT2 program in DOS protected mode. You can also use the disk_probe function to non-destructively convert dynamic disks to basic disks.
