Bagas31: Adobe AIR is a technology that allows applications built using Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex, HTML, JavaScript, and other web technologies to run across platforms and devices. With Adobe AIR, you can access features of the operating system, file system, databases, camera, microphone, and other resources on your computer or mobile device. Adobe AIR also supports many standards and protocols for exchanging data and interacting with other applications and services.
To install or update the Adobe AIR runtime on your computer, you must have administrator rights. The runtime environment is installed on a Windows computer as follows:
- Download the runtime installation file
- Double click it.
- Follow the instructions on the installation window to complete the installation.

Adobe AIR installs as its own package. In other words, like rpm in rpm-based distribution and like deb in Debian distribution. AIR does not currently support other package formats.
To run AIR applications, you must download and install the appropriate application file (with an .air extension) from the developer’s website or other source. It also checks for the latest version of the AIR runtime and updates it if necessary.
