digiCamControl allows you to connect the camera to your computer using a USB cable and select the PTP/MTP transfer mode (for some camera models, this must be done in the camera menu). After connecting, you will see your camera in the list of available cameras in the program. You can connect several cameras at the same time and control them in parallel or one by one.
digiCamControl allows you to adjust shooting parameters such as exposure mode, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, exposure compensation, etc. You can see these parameters on the program screen and change them with the mouse or Keyboard. You can also use the Live View feature to view live images through the camera on your computer screen. You can focus remotely or manually adjust focus. You can even zoom in and out to confirm that the focus is sharp.
digiCamControl allows you to start shooting remotely from your computer or directly from the camera. You can choose single shooting, continuous shooting or slow sync mode. You can also use the Bracketing feature to take a series of photos with different exposures, apertures, or shutter speeds. You can also use the Intervalometer function to take a series of pictures on a specified schedule. This is useful for creating time lapses or astrophotography.
digiCamControl allows you to view your photos on a large computer screen immediately after they are taken or later. You can see a photo’s histogram and metadata, and highlight over- and underexposed areas. You can also use Quick Review to view your photos in full screen, or Full Screen to turn your computer into a photo frame. You can also use the Compare function to compare two or more photos using different parameters.
digiCamControl has many additional features that expand its capabilities. For example, you can use the Focus Stacking feature to create a series of shots with different focuses that can be combined into a single image with a large depth of field. You can use the Motion Detection function to trigger shooting when motion is detected on a camera that supports Live View. You can use the Barcode Scanner feature to scan barcodes from your camera and save them to a file or database.
digiCamControl is open source software distributed under the MIT license. You are free to use, copy, modify and distribute the program.
