General features. Extended capabilities. For those who want to get more functionality and features, there are paid versions of the program: Designer Edition, Designer Edition Plus and Business Edition. Each of them gives you access to additional features, such as importing your work in SVG format, working with embroidery files (PES, DST, EXP, JEF and XXX), advanced options for working with rhinestones, exporting to SVG format, support for multiple plotters and advanced cutting optimization.
Program interface. Silhouette Studio has a convenient and intuitive interface, which consists of several panels: toolbar (contains basic tools for working with design), library panel (contains a collection of ready-made designs and fonts), properties panel (contains settings for the selected object or layer), the cutting panel (contains settings for sending the design to the plotter) and the workspace (contains the design itself).
Design creation. Silhouette Studio gives you many options to create your own unique design. You can use various shapes, texts, images, patterns and effects to create a composition. You can also edit your design using selection, moving, scaling, rotating, aligning, grouping, adding, subtracting and other tools. You can also use layers to control the order and visibility of objects.
Working with files. Silhouette Studio supports importing and exporting various file formats. You can import JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF and TIF files to use in your design. You can also import SVG files (paid versions only) and embroidery files (Designer Edition Plus only) for editing or cutting. You can export your design in JPG, PNG or PDF formats for printing or emailing. You can also export your design in SVG format (Business Edition only) for use in other programs.
Cutting settings. Silhouette Studio allows you to customize cutting settings for different materials and plotters. You can select the type of material, speed, force, depth and number of cutting passes. You can also adjust the position and size of the knife, and use a test cut to check the quality. You can also use the cutting optimization function to save material and time.
Sending to plotter. Once you’ve created and customized your design, you can send it to the plotter for cutting, embossing, stamping, or printing. You can connect your plotter to your computer using a USB cable or Bluetooth (if your plotter supports this feature). You can also use the Silhouette Mobile app to send designs to the plotter from your smartphone or tablet.
